A Bathroom Extension
A bathroom extension. This bathroom extension was so much fun to work with. It was a brand new build to the back of the property, to include an en-suite for one of the bedrooms but also to add a bath into the house.
My clients taste regarding tiles was similar to my own, in that as often as possible – MINIMUM GROUT! – I’m not a fan of grout and it never looks well when it gets inevitably grubby. I do nothing to enhance grout lines when designing bathrooms and i try to choose tiles that work seamlessly like a big picture rather than enhancing the shape of each tile with grout lines. Choosing the correct coloured tile grout for the tile, is absolutely essential in creating seamless tiled floors or walls. The tiler did a great job on making this happen for us.
We chose a one screen shower cubicle in black with a slate tray and continued the black theme through the hardware and little side table – a great addition in a bathroom should you want a candle or a glass of wine beside you! I designed the windows floor to ceiling so that the bather could enjoy the surrounding peaceful garden views.
