Spiritual Mountain Retreat

Spiritual mountain retreat is just that. It’s a beautiful property nestled away in the countryside and owned by an absoloutely incredible and wonderful being who does spiritual guidance counselling. As her work is so much based around energy, the brief for this house was helping to create, endorse, encourage, confirm and lean in to a deeply restful, reflective, peaceful and tranquil environment. My client had already managed to do that just by injecting such powerful intentional energy into this home but the colours and textures that have now been added, take it to the next level and envelope it with so much more context. All of which just feels so natural and wildly organic. This house feels exciting, mysterious, intriguing and unbelievably calm and sublime. This client and this home have taught me so much about my own work. About colour and understanding my own perception of depth. About what home is and what it can become. About what we perceive our homes to be and perhaps do we not utilise and nurture them in a better way… not fully understanding how they can be so much more of a sanctuary than just a base from where to rest, cook, clean and exist. When we declutter, when we eliminate so much overwhelming and unnecessary materialistic possession and concentrate more wholly on the energy of the space. Asking yourself, how does it feel here? How can i make it feel better here. And working on improving the energy of that space. On believing that we can! This property has challenged my belief of what a home is. I enjoy going to this place. Something in its energy invites you to sit in the quiet and go in. To the innermost part of you. It’s an Interior that asks you to look within your own Interior and answer to yourself – what’s there?
